Life In the Spirit

Creation is God's masterpiece. Man is the pinnacle of God's masterpiece, created in the image and likeness of God. God created man for the purpose of fellowship. Sin separated man from the perfect fellowship he enjoyed with God in the Garden of Eden. Jesus came to redeem mankind from their sin and restore us relationally to God, fulfilling God's creative purpose. 

The book of James describes religion that is pure and undefiled as well as religion that is useless and deceptive. Religion that is useless can be used as covering for our flesh, attempting to hide the failures we don't want to be seen. This is the perfect opportunity for our adversary to oppress us with religion and steal life.

Sexual immorality is one of the most oppressive opportunities our spiritual adversary will exploit. Sexual immorality gives our adversary an opportunity to cause destruction in marriages, families and sexual purity. God has a freeing, plan of restoration and healing but we have to be committed God. Our desire to be pure must be greater than our desire to be sexually impure. 

Unforgiveness opens the door and welcomes oppression into our lives. Unforgiveness will result in bitterness and it damage all meaningful relationships. In this message we want to expose unforgiveness and break the power of oppression. 

Pride is the root of all sin, it's the motivating desires our sinful nature. Pride is a desire that we as believers must continually resist and oppose with humility. Humility opens the door for the grace of God, while pride opens the door for oppression. 

God has a plan and a purpose for your life. God has a plan to prosper you and give you hope. God has a plan to give life and life abundantly. Satan has a plan to steal, kill and destroy. Oppression is a tool our spiritual adversary tries to use against us in order to confound God's plan for your life. In this series we are talking about areas of our lives where we can experience oppression, and how to break the power of oppression.

God has a plan and a purpose for every life. Vision gives us the ability to see God's plan for our lives. We pursue God's plan for our lives by faith. When we pursue God's plan for our lives by faith we will encounter hindrances. One of most difficult hinderance to move beyond is fear.

It may sound like a cliche but true, God has a plan and a purpose for your life. God's plan for your life is better than your plan for your life. Vision gives us the ability to see that plan so that we can live that plan by faith.

Vision is the ability to discern the activity of God. God has a plan and a purpose for our lives. Are we discerning His plans and purposes and pursuing them by faith? God has a plan and a purpose for His church to reach lost people. Are we discerning God's plan? Are we faithfully executing God's plan?

The Holy Spirit is the most misrepresented person of the Trinity, but this should not be the case for a born again believer. In this message Pastor Tyler focuses on five common misconceptions concerning the Holy Spirit.
