Missing the Story

In this introductory message to our new series, The Scarlet Thread, we discover that the greatest tragedy in history was not that Jesus came into the world, but that many who knew the Scriptures best failed to recognize the One to whom the Scriptures pointed. John's Gospel reminds us that Christ was present before creation, that He is the eternal Word, and that the purpose of Scripture is not merely to increase our knowledge, but to lead us into a deeper relationship with Him. This message lays the foundation for seeing God's plan of redemption unfold from beginning to end. Rather than studying disconnected stories, we'll learn to recognize the scarlet thread of redemption woven through every book of the Bible, a story that ultimately leads to Christ.
